Why are Judge Napolitano and others on Fox surprised that IG MIchael Horowitz’s report will not accuse Comey of lying? Comey will be criticized (and rightly so) for making disastrous decisions and breaking FBI guidelines, but Comey’s a Boy Scout, not a liar.

(THREAD — 5 tweets) Interesting that Napolitano is surprised that the IG report (now due out on June 14) will not accuse Comey of lying (i.e. law-breaking). #michaelhorowitz

1/ But as I posted some time ago, there have been signs going back weeks that Comey would not be accused of lying. And I predicted then that anti-Comey, pro-Trump partisans are going to be sorely disappointed by Horowitz’s report.

2/ Fox and Friends, echoing Joe diGenova, even suggest that Rosenstein might be *scrubbing* Horowitz’s report before it is released in attempt to protect the bureau and exonerate Comey.

3/ Doh!

Horowitz is scheduled to appear before Congressional committees under oath. You can be sure that Rs on the committees will ask Horowitz: Does the report that was released differ in any significant way from the one you submitted to Rod Rosenstein? #michaelhorowitz

4/ Rosenstein knows that, so he would have to be crazy to scrub the report, even if he were inclined to (which he surely isn’t)

All the crazy people are on Fox! #michaelhorowtiz
