This is exactly what Steele feared. They’re not his informants (intermediaries) but it’s still bad.
Two of Christopher Steele’s Moscow sources (not informants or intermediaries) might already have been outed.
Kavalec’s handwritten notes should never have been released unredacted and unclassified. This is exactly what Steele always feared. 1/6
“The State Department official’s notes also indicate Steele claimed the Russians, Vyacheslav Trubnikov and Vladislav Surkov, were ‘sources’ for the dossier.” 2/6
Though @ChuckRossDC fails to note this, in the Steele dossier it is clear that a source is an original source, never an informant or intermediary.

General Vyacheslav Ivanovich Trubnikov was Director of Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) for Russia between 1996 and 2000.
Vladislav Surkov was First Deputy Chief of the Russian Presidential Administration from 1999 to 2011. 4/6
