Some advice to the right wing on the declassification of intel documents: be careful what you wish for

This Washington Examiner article covers a number of things, though it’s not clear how they are related. 1/11

One topic: there is concern in the US intel community that one of Brennan’s informants may get burned by Barr. 2/11

This invaluable informant (in Moscow) was the U.S. intelligence community’s source in determining that Putin personally “ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election” to undermine Democratic candidate Clinton. 3/11

Brennan passed this information on to Obama in August 2016. The date is interesting, because by this date Steele was saying the very same thing based on HIS sources and informants.

So much for the vile, slanderous Trump-speak about the “fake,” “unverified” dossier. 4/11

Brennan: “[W]hen the Russians were trying to interfere in that election and to change the outcome of it in their favor, the CIA and the FBI worked very collaboratively to see what the Russians were doing and who they were working with.” 5/11

Soon the Gang of Eight and the congressional intel committees will be given some idea of what this means when they are briefed by the FBI and DOJ on the counterintel and natsec findings from the Mueller probe and the concurrent FBI investigation. 6/11

Won’t go well for Trump and his defenders in Congress. Will go well for the “deep state” — and Steele. 7/11

Lately there has been a lot of media chumming from the right-wing about the prospects that declassifying Carter Page’s fifth FISA warrant will take down Brennan, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, and even Obama — all of whom will go on trial. (I’m not making this up.) 8/11

Seems to have something to do with Papadopoulos, because the right-wing is especially concerned that docs about the FBI investigation of Papadopoulos that involved Stefan Halper and Azra Turk be declassified. 9/11

Hard to believe that all the media chumming is about this. (Imagine that the FBI used paid informants to surveil Papadopoulos, who had told an Australian diplomat that he had been told by Mifsud that Russia had dirt on Clinton in the form of emails! Outrageous!) 10/11

But as far as I can tell, that’s what all the media chumming from the right-wing propaganda machine is about. But we might know for sure relatively soon. 11/11
