A note to the doubters and Chicken Littles out there, who fear the MUELLER REPORT will be disappointing

The unsealed court filings today show that by 18 July 2017 Mueller suspected (inter alia) that Michael Cohen was an unregistered foreign agent of Russia. This was a matter he had to investigate, under his charge as special counsel. 1/11

But that proved to be a dry hole. Beginning in mid-February of 2018, Mueller started turning over investigation materials on Cohen to SDNY, which continued the investigation of Cohen for financial crimes.

It’s 6 months, 29 days from 18 July 2017 to 16 Feb 2018. 2/11

This shows, as Chuck Rosenberg pointed out today, that when Mueller doesn’t find anything, he is quite prepared to fold, or to turn an investigation found to be unrelated to Trump-Russia over to someone else. 3/11

Deadline White House on Twitter““When [Mueller] was looking at Cohen as a possible agent of a foreign power…once that wasn’t there…he gave the case to the SDNY…you see somebody disciplined, following the rules he was provided…it’s…https://tinyurl.com/y5o8srz3

So it is very significant that the FBI and special counsel investigations of Trump-Russia — that is, Russian interference in the election and any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and the Trump campaign — have gone on much longer. 4/11

There have been Mueller indictments of Russian nationals (Internet Research Agency, the GRU), but most of the indictments have been against Americans, and very importantly, the purpose was to FLIP the Americans who were indicted. 5/11

Flip them for what purpose you ask? Answer (which no one, including Mueller lawyers like MIchael Dreeben, have ever disputed): to get them to turn state’s evidence against Trump for campaign collusion, that’s why. 6/11

Operation Crossfire Hurricane (FBI) was launched on 30 July *2016* (yes, that’s right: almost a full year before the first Mueller search warrant was obtained against Michael Cohen). 7/11

The DOJ/FBI investigation into whether President Trump was an agent of the Russian Federation was opened by Rosenstein within days of Comey’s firing on 9 May 2017, and Robert Mueller was appointed by Rosenstein as special counsel on 17 May 2017. 8/11

It’s 2 years, 7 months, and 20 days from 30 July 2016 to the present day.

That’s *4–½ times* as long as Mueller was involved in Cohen’s particular investigation. 9/11

Anyone out there want to tell me that Mueller has been going that long on his Trump-Russia investigation without finding any evidence showing Trump campaign collusion to report to Barr and to Congress? 10/11

Please.

Give. me. a. break. 11/11
